Positronics' primary focus is on control systems for real time environments where things physically move. This means that we are typically developing control system software that senses the world around it and manipulates physical objects. Often the base platform consists of a real time controller in conjunction with a Windows PC. A Windows PC provides the best connectivity to many different devices and allows us to bring them all together and coordinate their activities. We often call this coordination device a Cell Controller. It is common for us to use a Cell Controller to control a robot workcell's actions and coordinate them with devices that connect with Ethernet, USB, RS‑232, fieldbus, digital IO, and other similar interfaces.We leverage our experience in Motion Controllers, Robots, Vision Systems, PLCs, and other devices we have experience with. We also often integrate Motion Control‑centric, Robot‑centric, and PLC‑centric systems. One size does not fit all in the industrial automation field.
